Salt Boards for Rock Salt Cooking

We have been making plenty of ‘salt boards’. They are used mostly for Rock Salt Cooking.

The idea with these boards are that you firstly heat up a block of Himalayan Rock Salt. Then put it on the timber board and take it to the table. There you can cook your favorite fish or lamb or beef or vegetables just how you want them ,

Salt blocks come in all sizes. We have probably encountered 14 different sizes so far , it doesn’t matter the size of the block , we can make it to suit your needs …

We can use any of several timbers , eg. Camphor Laurel, White Cedar, Norfolk Pine , Australian Red Cedar , plus more.

More Uses :

Consequently these boards are popular just as a general servery item , people buy them just to bring cheese and crackers out on or Garlic bread or what have you.

These boards have been common with the outer dimensions of , 250mm2 plus the handle of 100mm long, also 270mm2, 290mm2, 300mm2, 350mm2 x 22mm thick. We can make them to suit your needs.

Most all of our boards are coated with pure canola oil, and can be maintained for years to come with a periodic ‘coat’ , (wipe over) with some pure canola oil, read the label of the bottle very closely as the manufacturers are sneaky and the oil can be canola oil blended with vegetable oil or other, you want the pure canola oil for re-coating….
